Sarah Polley îs an actor, director, producer and political activist. Born in Toronto, Canada, and after a series of film and stage roles as a child/teen actor she was the lead actor in the 1988 Canadian series “Ramona,” based on the books by Beverly Cleary. Her career took off from there, as she portrayed Sara Stanley on the 1990 Disney TV series “Road to Avalon” for seven seasons. Her films after that included “The Sweet Hereafter,” the cult film “Go,” “Dawn of the Dead” and “Beowulf & Grendel.” Although she never said she was retiring from acting, she had her last role in 2010.

Her director debut feature, “Away from Her” (from an Alice Munro short story), received two Oscar nominations. Her documentary “Stories We Tell,” was about her own story in not knowing her biological father, and “Women Talking” is her first feature in ten years.

Sarah Polley received a “Visionary Award” from the 58th CIFF, and was accompanied by “Women Talking” cinematographer Luc Montpellier. Photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com took their Exclusive Portraits on the Red Carpet.
