NBC News Gleefully Tries Censoring Video Of John Fetterman’s Speech Issues [VIDEO]
A report from The Federalist from earlier in September details how NBC News sought to censor a video on social media of Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate and sitting Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman’s speech issues during a recent rally, with NBC News apparently being successful in getting the video removed from TikTok while also trying to get Twitter to do the same.
It’s no mystery that ever since Fetterman’s stroke this past May, his oratorical prowess has greatly diminished – with Fetterman frequently stuttering during speaking engagements and, at times, failing to coherently articulate a complete thought.

Fetterman’s speech issues are hardly surprising, considering that even Politico reported that the “blood clot in his brain nearly killed him in mid-May,” and he remained off the campaign trail for three months until finally appearing before a crowd in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 14th – where he showcased these severe speech issues.
Come September 11th, Fetterman delivered a speech before a crowd in Montgomery County, where he again demonstrated his frequent stammer. A montage of some of Fetterman’s stuttering from the Montgomery County speech spread online via Twitter and TikTok so as to emphasize the concerning elements surrounding whether he’s fit for office.

However, NBC News – particularly, their contributor Ben Goggin – took issue with this clip circulating on social media, calling the video “deceptively edited,” and framed the spread of this video (and others like it) as potentially violating Twitter and TikTok’s policies “against political misinformation.”
In the September 14th piece by NBC News’ Goggin, he claimed this video of Fetterman and others like it “include slight edits, such as cutting out the sound of the audience to make it appear as if he had abruptly stopped speaking…Other edits cut Fetterman off midsentence, to create the perception that what he was saying was nonsensical.”
Yet, in the above featured video, it’s clear there is no sound manipulation since the crowd can be heard at times, and the only edits done to the clip are what are known as “jump cuts,” which is a typical edit performed to emphasize/highlight certain things in a video/videos (much like the Joe Rogan N-bomb controversy from earlier in 2022, which NBC News did not suggest was a “deceptively edited” video).
Nonetheless, Goggin boasted of how NBC News flagged this and other Fetterman stuttering videos on Twitter and TikTok, gleefully sharing how TikTok removed the videos but semi-shamed Twitter for not following suit.
“Twitter did not immediately respond to requests for comment. TikTok removed the videos that NBC News flagged to it, citing its ‘integrity and authenticity’ policy, which includes rules about misinformation.”
Goggin also made the wild claim that videos highlighting Fetterman’s speech issues “are among the highest-profile pieces of misleading video to circulate ahead of the midterms,” despite the fact there is nothing misleading about Fetterman’s stammering – because he’s quite literally stuttering.
